Stewardship

Stewardship is the moral center of the company. We hold what we build in trust for the people who will hold it next, and we are obligated to leave it stronger than it came to us.

We are custodians, not owners, of what will outlast us.

An owner may do as they wish with what they own. A steward holds something in trust and is answerable for its condition. ConsciousClouds chooses to be a steward.

To the companies

We are obligated to hand each company to its next stewards in better condition than we received it. Stronger foundations, clearer method, deeper trust with its market. Anything less is a failure of the office we hold.

To the people

The people who build these companies are not resources to be spent. They are the ones who will carry the institution forward. Stewardship of the company is inseparable from stewardship of the people who make it real. It is the principle the others answer to.
